Darkness to Light is a national nonprofit committed to empowering adults to prevent child sexual abuse. They are guided by their vision to create a world where child sexual abuse does not exist. They believe that every child has the right to a happy, healthy, and safe childhood, and that protecting children is an adult responsibility. They also believe that education is critical for prevention efforts and that all successful initiatives start in the local community. Using an evidence-informed approach, Darkness to Light programs teach adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

Acting as the nation’s voice for children, American Society for the Positive Care of Children or SPCC is a community standing up and speaking up to improve the way kids are represented, protected and treated in America. Their mission is to ensure that every child has a chance to become a happy, healthy and productive adult.

Many things qualify as “unwanted sexual experiences,” even if at first a boy or man was grateful for the attention. It could include an experience that a man may not be ready to label as “sexual abuse” or “sexual assault,” or even understand how it might have been.

Healing can begin when a man recognizes the possible connection between those experiences and common consequences – consequences that can include rocky relationships, lost jobs, self-destructive behaviors, depression, and even violence.

Whatever the experience, whatever the consequence, we can help sort through the confusion – safely and anonymously.
